Sai Champions for Children “mentorship” program We addressed the struggles of government school children who were deprived of access to a physical learning environment during the pandemic. The inception of the “mentorship program” gave a continuity, hope and zest for learning in such difficult times. The unique foundation of the intervention is the involvement of Saimers as volunteers who mentored the children with dedication and unwavering faith in making a difference. The design and implementation of the mentorship program were supported by Adhyayan Foundation. Adhyayan Foundation was also instrumental in preparing Saimers for their mentorship role. As mentors, our Saimers engaged the students in academic and life skills and developed a connection on a personal level to enable their overall growth. The high school students from three Zilla Parishad schools were identified and inducted into a well-designed, interactive online platform and mentored in math, science, and English on a weekly basis. We recognized students performing well and awarded them with token gifts for their efforts. The Sai Champions also introduced the students to online career exposure sessions with experts. The inspiring sessions made the students understand and get motivated about the opportunities in the future. .
