Sai Life Sciences Sustainability Report 2023

67 At Sai, we believe in harmonious coexistence with the local communities and support their development as we chart our growth trajectory. We go beyond innovation and business success by contributing to the communities where we operate. To remain steadfast in this effort, we collaborate with government and non-governmental organisations, whose interventions align with our focus areas,. Over the years, we have been working with communities around our sites focusing on the core areas of Education, Health and Livelihood Development. During 2022-23, we extended our commitment to another focus area, the Environment. We are keen to address pressing global challenges and support our communities to improve their quality of life by aligning our corporate social responsibility efforts with the UN SDG’s. At Sai Life Sciences, measurable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets have been an integral part of our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Defining goals have helped us to stay the course, strive to do better each time and create higher impact at the grassroots. We have significantly exceeded the CSR goal on ‘education & creating livelihoods’ as a part of our Sustainable Development Goals way ahead of our objective. This has encouraged us to raise the bar further in the renewed SDGs that we aim to achieve by March 31, 2027.
