69 Health The health and well-being of our communities are essential aspects of our sustainability journey. Our commitment extends beyond providing healthcare services. Access to healthcare is the core emphasis along with providing timely diagnosis, screening and raising awareness about health challenges through campaigns. LVPEI Sai Life Sciences Eye Centre The LVPEI Sai Eye hospital at Alwal is a free walk-in eye care facility that serves all primary eye health needs of people in the greater Shameerpet area. In the current reporting year, we supported the Alwal centre with the final set of advanced diagnostic equipment. This equips the facility with all of the intended diagnostic/surgical equipment and services envisioned for the secondary centre in Alwal. The Centre has programs built around 3 core areas • Prevention - Early screening • Treatment - Diagnosis with medical and surgical treatment • Rehabilitation - Services to support the vision impaired Key Highlights • Caters to a population of 500,000 • Capacity to examine 30,000 outpatients • Perform 3,000 surgeries per year Our approach Screened 43 girls from the Kacheguda Juvenile Home and 60 boys from the Saidabad Juvenile Home for psychological and psychiatric problems (including behavioural, emotional, and neuropsychological issues, such as Autism, ADHD, OCD and identity issues) Treatment plan included providing emotional support to children in the form of counselling Remedial therapy was provided to children where learning gaps were identified Medical intervention was provided to some of the children/adolescents Staff were trained to handle children with behavioural issues Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad We have commenced our association with IIPH-Hyderabad campus in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad. Sai is committed to supporting the construction of the Centre for Infectious Diseases and Response Preparedness at IIPH-Hyderabad. This building would be dedicated to the activities of the centre involving research, training, and capacity building, including housing a high-quality digital library, and well-equipped laboratory for research purposes. Roshni Mental Health - Juvenile Home Program As part of this program, children/adolescents from two government-run juvenile homes, Kacheguda Girls Juvenile Home and Saidabad Boys Juvenile Home were screened and provided treatment for mental health-related issues.
