71 Environment The protection of biodiversity and ecosystems is a stated priority of our HSE Policy. We live this commitment by conducting regular plantation drives in and around our units and work closely with the local forest department in selecting native plant and tree species for each region. Plantation Drive in Chilkur Reserve Forest area We partnered with the Government of Telangana to run a tree plantation drive of 2000 saplings and extend to care for the saplings over two years. We aim to continue this effort towards making Greater Hyderabad greener, by tending to the saplings and contributing to the goal of afforestation • This is our effort to create new breathing spaces in Greater Hyderabad region. The project’s objective is to expand the city’s green cover, help curb pollution, benefit the local community and support the broader environmental goals of combatting climate change. • The block plantation project built a new green belt over an area of 5 acres • The novelty of this initiative is the involvement of close to 60 Saimers as a part of the plantation drive, that took place in the Chilkur Reserve Forest area, just outside the Mrugavani National Park
