9 Baking News! Fresh off the oven Good to have an Analytical R&D team that goes beyond the brief. Keeping aside research on APIs, they conducted an ARD Baking competition in October. As per the contest theme, Flavour Fusion, two flavours must be added to the creation. The winner was Thomas Culshaw with his freshly baked ‘Pickled Jalapeno and Manchego Cheese Sourdough,’ accompanied by pat of spicy butter. While baked bread pipped the post, other worthy surprises were ‘Chilli Chocolate Brownies’, ‘Dragon Attack’ (a Welsh tea loaf), ‘Soggy Sicilian’ (an orange and ricotta cheesecake), ‘Pump up the Jam’ (a white chocolate and raspberry jam blondies) and a courgette and lime cake.
