As part of a partnership with a university in the vicinity, three students trained for a year at our Manchester facility. They worked on research projects and customer projects and made presentations in departmental meetings. Here’s what they have to say: I have learnt more than I did in my previous 3 years of university! My project specialised in HILIC but I gained experience in all analytical techniques offered at Sai Manchester. I’ve had a wonderful time at Sai and what I learnt this past year will be valuable in my future career. I enjoyed my research project as well as the customer projects I was a part of. The research project given to me tested my scientific knowledge and allowed me to dive deep into a specific reaction. Subsequently I worked on 4 different projects, which gave exposure to different chemistry and working within different teams. Industrial students at Manchester enthralled with all-round learning 9 “ “ Special feature - five years at Sai Life Sciences Jodie Evie Lucy “

With support from five Saimers - Mallikarjun, Veershetty, Ashok, Rajkumar and Nagendra, Omkar has created a nursery – started with seeds collected from trees in the plant premises, and scrap materials such as green cloth, MS pipes and Aluminium wires recycled for building the canopy. The Nursery houses over one hundred plants. Varieties include Cashew, Mango, Drumstick and flower plants. Foliage plants that emit a high amount of oxygen are also part of the collection being nurtured at the Nursery. In June 2023, during World Environment Day, Omkar plans to gift the Nursery to the EHS team. 13 Saimers in focus Omkar and Friends: Saving Planet Earth Omkar Admin, Bidar

The boundary wall of the adjacent house was collapsing, and she found two cats that had taken shelter in danger of being swept away. “They were born to a very pretty cat whom we used to feed...I just could not see them drown. Without a second thought, I jumped into the water from my compound wall and picked up both,” she says. Shiba, being a Felinophile, already had two three cats at home, and the rescued two joined the cluster. Her greatest joy is seeing them grow big and healthy.
