Sai Life Sciences Sustainability Report 2023

61 Occupational Health & Safety We have established a strong framework and implemented a series of initiatives that prioritize occupational health and safety, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. Our comprehensive approach includes the Shop Floor Initiative, safety control tours, safety review meetings, a dedicated safety committee, and regular Safety shots aimed at disseminating crucial information to our workforce. Our Shopfloor Transformation Initiative (SFTI) is centered on active employee participation in identifying and mitigating safety risks at their workplace stations. This proactive approach empowers employees to address safety concerns in real time, fostering a safety conscious culture and promoting immediate action to prevent accidents and hazards. Regular Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Control tours are conducted to systematically assess workplace conditions, equipment, and processes. These tours are an essential part of our continuous improvement strategy, enabling us to identify potential hazards, evaluate safety protocols, and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment. We have introduced Safety Promotion Scheme to strengthen safety awareness among the employees. It has led to reinforcement of safe behaviours and has helped in addressing at-risk behaviours of associates and workers. The best safety performance of departments and cross function are awarded as Zonal Safety Champions which further encourages our employees to embrace safe work and good environmental practices in our operations. Safety shots are circulated monthly to spread awareness through learnings from real time scenarios, critical safety information, equipment know-how, technical information on specialised equipment in the form of pictorial representations. This engaging platform ensures that employees are regularly informed, educated, and updated on safety-related matters, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
