Decoding the Signals of Life: CDFD’s Dr. Rashna Bhandari visits Sai

Dr. Rashna Bhandari, Principal Investigator at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad, recently visited our Sai Life Sciences campus to deliver an insightful masterclass on “Phosphate-rich biomolecules in cell signalling.”

In her session, Dr. Bhandari explored how phosphate-rich molecules act as vital messengers that regulate cellular communication and coordination. She explained how these molecular signalling pathways control essential biological processes such as growth, metabolism, and response to disease — revealing how even subtle molecular changes can have profound biological effects.

Her lecture offered our teams a deeper understanding of how life’s most fundamental signals operate at the molecular level, connecting biochemistry to cellular behaviour. The discussion also highlighted the relevance of such pathways in understanding disease mechanisms and therapeutic development.

Dr. Bhandari leads a research group at CDFD studying the mechanisms by which phosphate signalling influences cellular physiology. Her pioneering work continues to advance knowledge in molecular biology and biochemical regulation.

At Sai, we deeply value these knowledge-sharing interactions with leading scientists and academic experts. They not only inspire scientific curiosity but also strengthen our collective pursuit of innovation and excellence in drug discovery and development.
