Sai Life Sciences Launches Child Safety Awareness Program in Government Schools in Hyderabad with Sankalp
Raising awareness around child safety requires sensitivity and a collective effort to help children recognize unsafe situations and know how to respond. Guided by this purpose, Sai Life Sciences, in partnership with Sankalp NGO, has launched a Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program across ten government schools in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
The program features two age-appropriate curriculums aimed at educating, equipping, and empowering children with the awareness and tools to protect themselves. By its completion, the program will have reached 3,400 children, trained over 100 teachers, and engaged several community groups, ensuring that awareness extends beyond classrooms to families and neighbourhoods.
The sessions helped children understand their feelings, speak up with confidence, and overcome stigma through interactive methods such as role play and guided discussions. Learning tools like the ‘PANTS’ rule — a simple five-step guide for personal safety — helped children remember key takeaways for their protection, while orientation on the POCSO Act equipped teachers to recognize and respond appropriately to signs of abuse.
Paviethra P, Senior Executive at Sai Life Sciences, who attended one of the sessions as part of the company’s CSR engagement, shared: “The facilitators handled sensitive topics like body boundaries and good and bad touch with warmth and care, making it easy for the children to relate. When they created their ‘Call for Help’ posters, I saw courage and creativity come alive. Even the PANTS rule — though serious — became a fun song and dance filled with laughter and confidence. What moved me most was when some of the boys said they’d share these safety tips with their sisters and friends. By the end, it was clear they hadn’t just listened — they had truly understood.”
This initiative reflects Sai Life Sciences’ CSR philosophy of driving meaningful impact through education. Overall, our efforts span four focus areas — education, healthcare, livelihood, and environment — empowering communities through awareness and sustainable action.
