Structural Biology capabilities launched with X-Ray Crystallography

Sai Life Sciences has introduced integrated structural biology capabilities with the establishment of X-ray protein crystallography workflows to support structure-based drug discovery programs. The platform encompasses end-to-end protein engineering capabilities, including construct design, gene synthesis, and in-house recombinant protein expression and purification. These foundational steps enable generation of high-quality protein material suitable for structural and biophysical studies.

Crystallization workflows are supported by automation-enabled high-throughput screening and optimization using robotics to generate diffraction-quality crystals. The platform accommodates both co-crystallization and ligand soaking approaches, executed manually or through automated systems depending on project requirements.

X-ray diffraction data collection is conducted at synchrotron facilities and local diffractometers, with coordinated access to beamtime scheduling, shipment, and associated logistics to ensure efficient turnaround.

Structure determination is supported through a comprehensive workflow encompassing data processing, model building, refinement, ligand fitting, and validation. Structural insights are integrated directly into medicinal chemistry programs to inform binding analysis, guide rational optimization, and refine structure–activity relationships.

This capability strengthens Sai Life Sciences’ ability to support structure-based design across hit validation and lead optimization stages within integrated discovery programs.
